I have been following MobileMe closely. I love the whole sync idea - having my PC, 2 Mac's, work Mac and iPhone all in Sync.

I just actually signed up now - cause I am sure that MobileMe is gonna be swetet when up and running properly.

From what I can see - and if people can confirm this:

Push :
Pushing to and from Web Apps and iPhone works for Mail, Contacts and Calendar instantly - push to and from Mac works instantly for Mail (re: IDLE) and every 15min for Cal/Contacts (i.e. changes made on Mac will sync to MM cloud and to other devices every 15mins, and will retrieve changes every 15mins)

Status :
Seems people are having issues with things disappearing still -contacts going missing - email going offline? Email works here for me in the UK.

Speed :
iDisk performance is really not very good - certainly in the UK. Does anyone know if Apple plans to rectify this by having servers hosted int he UK perhaps?

Think thats all?

Getting info from MobileMe to your Mac is indeed via push, meaning it happens instantly (or within 5 seconds) and not every 15 minutes. Only Mac to MobileMe is 15 minutes, unless you manually sync.

MobileMe is still having some issues. Some subscribers (including me) still cannot access their mail. I'm sure it will ultimately get resolved. Overall, it's a good service.

Just tested this. Nothing is sync'd in or out of the computer instnatly. Must be either manually sync'd or every 15minutes.

If anyone reading this is on the verge of subscribing, i'd say wait. Wait till the current issues are fixed. Stay up to date by reading the forums. If my experienced changes for the better, i'd definately let people here know.

Bottomline from my point of view is, MobileMe is NOT ready for the masses.

Maybe that's due to the general problems people are having with MobileMe then as for me changes to do get automatically pushed to my mac. It should be resolved when other issues are resolved -- MobileMe to mac changes should be automatic.

Well, let's put it this way - I just tried to access my calendar on me.com and all I get is the little spinner thing and a message that says "Loading Events". Calendar never loads though.

I thought it was humorous - I got an email from Apple this morning, inviting me to give Mobile Me a trial test (I've had a trial account since they started). Why in the you know what is Apple trying to get new users to signup when the thing isn't working right yet. Sheesh - are they that hard up for money?

Maybe Apple are having problems with those transferring from .mac? Maybe New customers are less trouble for some reason?

The problems for MobileMe are only getting bigger, imo, and not smaller so I hope Apple gets them figured out soon as the way things look now, it will still be a few more weeks before complete stability comes

Anyone else using Firefox 3 who can't upload things using the "Choose" button - i.e. to iDisk or Photo Gallery? Button just doesn't do anything.

Seemed to work when I was in Safari.

I've been using it (on a trial subscription) for a little over a week now, and I'd have to second that---especially if a Windows-based PC is in the mix somewhere.

The particular problem that I've run into (and for now have given up on) is synching calendars from Outlook+Exchange to MobileMe. Events added to my Outlook calendars never get synched up to MobileMe, and events added to MobileMe never sync back down to Outlook. According to some people who've spoken with Apple support, this "works as designed" and apparently isn't going to be fixed.

It will take time to earn trust ...

I feel like I am being used as a system tester. Clearly the features worked for the demos given at the WWDC, but reality paints a different picture. I have had hugely varying experiences ... sometimes e-mail works great, sometimes messages are delayed for hours. Sometimes calendar events push to my iPhone, sometimes they don't. SOmetimes contacts deleted on my iPhone get deleted on my Mac. Web calendar NEVER loads, e-mails deleted on my iPhone NEVER get moved out of the inbox on the web mail app.

At this point, you can not "trust" MobileMess to do what Apple claimed it would do. Given the importance (to me) of my e-mail/calendar/contacts, it will be a while before I can trust this to work. It idea is great, the execution makes me want to scream!!!

Oh one more thing .... Please, Please, Please implement shareable calendars with read/write capabilities between users!!!!

To be fair, I haven't had too much trouble with synching stuff between my MacBook, MobileMe and the iPhone. I've only used the web interface to MobileMe as a sanity check of sorts, mostly when I've been experimenting with the Outlook+Exchange part (which definitely doesn't work).

So far my mac to PC to Windows XP running in VMWare Fusion to the iPhone is working for me. For me its very nice to have my work calendar now syncing with everything else and so nice to be able to get my iCal calendars to my pc and only worry about entering things in one place now. Hubby was having some issues with the calendar but it appears to all be working well for him now. He's using a PC, laptop and iPhone.

Sync with Outlook works OK

I have a MacBook Pro, an iMac, and a Sony notebook. I sync my Treo with Outlook on the Sony, then sync with MobileMe, and the Macs as well as the web-based MM all pick up the changes in calendar and contacts content fine. I've synced manually with the Sony, although it also syncs automatically every 15 minutes. Don't think it pushes to/from the PC, but haven't really tested that. MM does push back to the Macs when the changes hit the Cloud. As expected, there is no push to the Treo - I knew I'd have to sync it with the PC to get changes made on the Treo into the MM system.

Note: I do not use MS Exchange - this is the straight-up Outlook program running in Windows Vista.

This all seems to be working fine with my account, despite my being in the infamous 1% who haven't received any .Mac/MM email since last Friday.
