Now lots of people have their new iPads now, what are the thoughts on the screen corners? I haven’t seen a new iPad in person yet but this just screams form over function to me with no clear benefit and done purely for the aesthetics. I think I just prefer my screens to have proper corners as most modern screens do.

Those corners don’t bother me at all. I kind of like that even screen border all the way around. There is nothing that would be in the corners that I need to see. I certainly don’t spend any time staring at the rounded corners fretting about them. (I’m old enough to have watched black and white TV on a round-fronted, bulging tube, so that may be part of why I’m not bothered.)

Appears to be more proof of concept for foldable displays. Keeping in mind to get that edge the display has to be folded onto itself. A glimpse into what is yet to come? I think the IPad will extend the display almost to the edge but what we have for the the new IPad is merely a manufacturing proof of scability. They have proven they can “fold,” the OLED’s with the X (OLED), XR (LCD) and now IPad (LCD).

You won't be staring at the corner of the screen, at least you should be looking at the center. You won't notice, I haven't nor have my friends who have the Ipp.

Looks good to me. The screen shape finally aligns with the design elements of iOS. If you need to be a purist for watching movies, you're gonna have black bars to display the proper aspect ratio, regardless.

I like the rounded corners, it’s easy on the eyes. Not that the sharp corners were straining my eyes, the rounded corners are just pleasant to look at. The corner radius is small enough that it doesn’t really take away from much of anything
