In July,I will receive my final paycheck(I'm quitting by then) and have saved up nearly $2000.I also know by then Apple will have their trade in computer discount.
So,which laptop to buy?I know they're coming out with new ones. It will be hard to decide.

not discount,oops,i wish
how much are macbooks supposed to cost?

How do you suppose any of us will know? Why would anyone let you know against the terms of his/her NDA?

Your guess is as good as anyone else's. $2000 is good enough to buy a MBP :)

$1699 for a refurbished MacBook Pro. Or you can wait for the iBook replacement.

I only expect to see a speed bump on the CPU and optical drive on the MacBook Pro.

Depends on your needs; if you only do basic computing tasks, then I would say go with a MacBook when they are released. If your computing uses are a bit more demanding, then go with a MacBook Pro. :)

My thinking is that as far as dual core chips go, "pro" and "non pro" are not that big a difference at all. Seriously I doubt a 2.0Ghz Core Duo is indeed 20% faster than a 1.66Ghz model. Definitely something to keep in mind if the Macbooks turns out to be a sub $1000 machine :)

what do you mean by:
