We're going to have this new 2019 MacPro design with us for a looong time.

We had the cheesgrater already, so it can't be called that. And it's obviously not a Trashcan, so that's out. Someone mentioned a "Colander" which is funny but kinda denigrating such a nice machine. Also heard "Holey Mac Pro", but that's kinda lame and could be misread as "holy" -making it biblical...

So is it the "Modular Mac Pro"? (mMP?)

The mMP works for me. But it's even more cheese grater than the older one... So I quite like Cheese Grater 2.0 too. But mMP is shorter and nice. Fits into the abbreviated naming of cMP, nMP, mMP. Alternatively we could focus on that 1.4kW PSU, and call it the high-wattage MP, hwMP.

Well if this is not a cheese grater I don't know what is. :)

I think the cMP does not look like a cheese grater in comparison to the 7.1

I think it could adopt the nMP name that the trash can had and just leave the trash can being called trash can or 2013 MP

The bank taker

It’s obviously a cheese grater. In fact, it’s so much a cheese grater that I am more than convinced that this is 100% intended. Folks at Apple sure have humor.

For those who forgot.. The Mac IIcx was marketed as a modular system, so the concept / terminology from Apple's perspective means that it can be easily upgraded by the end user and has slots.

With that in mind, the G5, cMP 1,1 2,1 3,1 4,1 and 5,1 were all modular designs. The only MP that wasn't modular was the trash can.

The Mac Pro Pro, in acknowledgement of the fact it's a step above where the old Mac Pros were pitched ;-)
