You could take it out, and put it in a regular phone, and it would have all of your contacts that are stored on the SIM card, your phone number, and your texts.


Basically, all the SIM card does, is send a signal to AT&T whenever you make a call. But, it sends that signal from your phone, not the actual card itself.

right. the dev team has released up-to-date unlock pack for us, however, it's not that convenient to do so. and maybe next update for firmware will make the unlock disabled. so look for the official unlocked iphone (as i know as far, in hong kong only, http://store.apple.com/hk/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone?cid=AOSAPQ209.comiPhone), and any SIM cards could work perfectly.
