...15 inch Macbook pro it doesnt mean its really 15 inches. It's really 14 inches. HUH What the %$#@*. I'm a sore loser.

Screen sizes are always measured in diagonal length, inches. It's standard, and you shouldn't be surprised. Now if your MBP is 14 inches in diagonal screen length, then I'd be surprised!

Does 15.4 inch MBP mean 13 in screen

Its 13in in length. Im pissed. Shouldn't it been at least 15inch. opp's I thought 15 in means 15 inch, oops. I feel like a fool, but wont ask for any help. Glad I can return the 15.4 case to Target cause I DONT HAVE A COMP THAT IS THAT BIG AT ALLLLLLL. THAT WOULD BE FOR A 17 INCH. HA

Cases refer to screen size, too (plus widescreen vs. standard).

Unless the case states it's specifically made for your model, the only way to make sure is to have the machine with you or look at the dimensions (L/W/D).

Screens have been measured on the diagonal since your grandparents bought their first TV. There is nothing to be sore about. You didn't think the screen was too small when you bought it (or you wouldn't have bought it). You got the machine you paid for and it is a fine computer.

Dont be too hard on him, I was pretty sad when I bought my first CRT in the 90's to find out that 17 inch is really diagonal and not across.

okay someone has already stated in the other thread you have created (about the same topic of your case not fitting) to measure the screen diagonally. measure the height and width then apply the pathagoreum theory.

(a^2+b^2=c^2)

i got it yesterday the 15.4'' model and the screen size is exact the same as my other 15.4'' windows laptop... >__>

I just found out the 15" Macbook's screen isn't really 15.4" high!

It's a SCAM!

Sorry, couldn't resist :D ;)

Seriously though, every single screen of any sort sold since I've been alive has been measured diagonally.

My new Harry Potter book has 784 pages, but it only goes to 759

Wait what...they count the extra pages as pages, I feel SO gypped!

Seriously...its like...tech support asking you if your computer is turned on, are you that stupid?

I want someone to photoshop a Macbook Pro with a screen that's 15" high by 15" wide :D

And I'm so sorry if it seems like I'm being sort of mean to the original poster. I don't mean anything by it :) The whole screen size thing is made even more confusing since widescreens are different than the old aspect ratio!
