We have no idea. Apple has not announced anything. You cannot trust rumors since they are just that, rumors. You will just have to wait like the rest of us.

Not necessarily, Apple dropped out of MacWorld because they realized that big expos are no longer needed for refreshes and new products.

The updates could come at anytime.

Actually the one thing I take from Apple's withdrawal from MacWorld is the fact that they will not tailor their releases to a particular "annual" cycle and will release when they are ready. So it could be sooner maybe even next month...

It wasn't meant for Apple, it was meant for companies that make software and accessories for Apple products.

Only in that Apple is the biggest Mac company. MacWorld is run by IDG and created MacWorld to cater to mac companies which includes Apple. Other than Apple's size, there is nothing that ties it directly to MacWorld.

Yes I do think it's a little poke in the eye for Apple to withdraw from the biggest show dedicated to it and its products. Still if that means more frequent releases, then so be it.....

I think I know why Apple did not update the Mac Mini (althought the iMac refresh should be arriving soon). People in this #^@( economy want a machine that requires the least hassle (don't go into the Mac vs. PC fanboy war). They would rather choose a complete system (with monitor, keyboard, mouse, webcam, etc) than having to buy those separately. I think Apple will just leave the Mini until there is so little demand, they will just announced it's EoL just like the G4 Cube. It's not a machine that appeals to people. Just for people that like tinkering around with little form factors. This may not hold true for all Mini owners, but it is a general idea.
