I really like my 42mm SG Sport. I like it a lot.

Which bands, even by Apple, are specifically made for the SG Sport?

I'm looking for an "every day" band to upgrade from the black plastic that came with it. I'm very slightly put off by the black on black on black on black color (black band, watch, face and crown) that is also the same visual texture.

Almost every band I've seen have silver hardware. For example, I really like the blue leather loop with the SG Sport. However at the "loop" there is silver hardware. I'm not looking for an argument on if this is acceptable or not, but clearly Apple designed it to with silver sport or SS Apple watch.

Is the black leather loop really black? Is it the same color as the space grey? Or is it a subtle color difference?

Even the other plastic bands have silver "buttons" that were clearly made to go with the silver finish of those watches.

So besides the black plastic band with the black button, which bands were specifically made for the SG Sport?

The only bands that are specifically 'made for' each watch are available as a purchase option. The only band specifically 'made for' the SG Sport is the black sport band with SG pin.

So the black leather is a different color than black sport band?

Again, I'm just trying to figure what Apple is suggesting for SG Sport. It looks like all bands were specifically designed for the silver Sport or SS AW except,

Black plastic w/black connector
Black leather
Black link

"Made for" may have been an over-reach as I know all 42mm bands will fit and are made for all 42mm watches. But it seems clear with the different color hardware Apple had in mind specific bands with specific watches. Just trying to figure that out.

If one is very pedantic it probably is a different shade of black.

Apple did indeed have in mind specific bands for specific watches, and they sell those specific combinations. Other combinations are not those currently intended by Apple.

Ok, gotcha. So that mean just two bands. The plastic and metal link as those are the only two available with the grey/black versions of the watch.

The only band Apple suggested for the Space Grey sport is the black sports band. That doesn't mean you're limited to that though.
