I swear to god I fight with iTunes every time I plug in an iOS device. It's been this way for YEARS. It's always a different problem.

When I plug in an old iPod classic, I have zero, and I mean zero problems. It syncs what I want, and does it quickly. Every time.

When I plug in an iOS device - any iOS device - currently having the exact same issue with both my iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 - either iTunes or iOS becomes the absolute biggest piece of ****ing ****. Both devices are on 9.2.

I bought ONE song from the iTunes store on my computer. I added it to an existing playlist in iTunes, which had 13 songs on it. Now with the new song, it has 14 songs. The existing 13 song playlist is on both the iPhone and iPad.

So I plug in the iPhone, wait for it to pop up in iTunes, and delete the existing 13 song playlist from the iPhone via iTunes. I then copy the new 14 song playlist from iTunes to my iPhone. According to iTunes, this was successful.

The song copies to the phone, and plays, but is NOT in the playlist. iTunes (mistakenly) shows that the 14 song playlist is on my iPhone. However, on the iPhone, the new playlist I just copied to it somehow still has 13 songs - the new song isn't in the playlist copied to the phone, even though the song itself is on the phone. The new one isn't there. It's on my phone, it's just not in the playlist, even though iTunes says it is. iPad does the exact same garbage.

I don't do any cloud ********, and have the iCloud library turned off in my iTunes and only have music on the phone shown on the phone.

I've done everything I can. Reboot the phone, unplug and replug, manually delete the playlist off the phone completely divorced from iTunes, you name it I've done it - but if I want to put a new song on a playlist and copy that playlist to the phone, the song copies to the phone but the playlist will copy to the phone WITHOUT the new song.

What the **** is wrong with this? I've now resorted to deleting ALL music from the phone and completely resyncing the whole thing. FAR TOO OFTEN this is the solution, and I'm ****ing sick and tired of it. I don't even know if this is going to work for Christ's sake.

I have those same exact issues. Sometimes I'll buy songs from my iPhone, but only some of them show up in purchased playlist (but they're in my iPhone). Then I'll move the songs to a playlist on my computer, but they don't sync to my phone. The only way to get the songs to show up in the playlist for me, is to delete those songs completely from my iPhone, then sync with iTunes.
