I'm guilty . Did it the day after I bought it. This thing really flies. Within a week, i'll have my Seagate 7200.1 7200rpm 100gb hard drive in there. Then my masterpiece will be complete. Anyone else already put 7200rpm drives in yet?

Too bad the integrated graphics are the last thing keeping this guy down...

I put 2Gb in just now, and didnt push it in hard enough as I got the blinking light at startup - that was a heart in the mouth moment for a while.

Not had chance to run much yet, will have to see what CS2 runs like under emulation.

I made a promise to myself after using my parents' iMac to never use rosetta on this computer so instead of MS Office / Photoshop, i'm on Openoffice / Gimpshop (x11) universal .

I ordered the 2GB before I went down to pick up the MacBook on Tuesday. It was in the MacBook first thing Wednesday morning. Given the advisablity of supporting dual channel with matching sticks given the shared video RAM, don't shortchange yourself by upgrading to 1GB now. 2GB seems to be the way to go. 512MB, fwiw, was really not so great.

What is Gimpshop? Are you happy with it? I certainly don't intend to shell out for CS2 or even Universal CS3.

The MacBook was delivered at 12:30, the mail at 4:17, the 2GB were installed 30 minutes later. Working great so far!
When i popped the RAM modules out, one of the levers(closest to the HD) did not spring back like the first...although I did manage to get both modules successfully popped out and the new ones in. The metal bracket was difficult to get back into place because the insulating foam mesh would not fit back over the new modules, and the screws would not cooperate very well either, although they did remain in the bracket after i removed it. Not sure if they are designed that way or if i just got lucky. Either way, much easier to upgrade than my G3 ibook so many years ago.

does oo go funny if you transfer it to evil microsoft still? i used to use oo and when i printed from mo at college it undid all the footnotes and created 'special effect's that generated alot of 20 minutes till deadline unneeded stress...
