So WWDC 2017 confined by Siri?

So WWDC 2016 came and passed by. It was underwhelming at the best, none the less we get what we want.

So what about next WWDC? WWDC 2017, well as Siri. Apparently it will be happening on June 17, 2017 at San Francisco.

Though June 17, 2017 is Saturday. Apple never hold WWDC on weekends. So it lead me to believe that it will be the following Monday, June 19.

When you ask same question, but 2018, Siri does not know the answer.

So? What do you guys think?

Siri is giving you the information for when WWDC is this year. She says "through June 17" meaning until June 17th, which is this Friday (as WWDC is June 13 through June 17 this year). She is misunderstanding you in your 2017 example for some reason.

Notice that you asked two different phrasings in your examples. For 2017 you said "When will WWDC 2017" and for 2018 you said "When will be WWDC 2018". If you say "When will be WWDC 2017" you get the same answer as for 2018.

Similarly if you say "When will WWDC 2018" Siri gives you the "through June 17" answer.

Bottom line: Siri is mistaking what you are asking and your queries were worded differently for each year, resulting in the discrepancy in answers.

Contrary to what a lot of people might think, WWDC IS NOT just this keynote, so while it may have been underwhelming for you, its not what the developers who pay to be there pay for. They are paying for the WEEK LONG CONFERENCE, which allows them access to almost all of the Apple engineers to help them perfect their apps so they can improve.

That's silly, Apple the most secretive company on the planet would not update its digital assistant to provide details on something a year a way. I wouldn't be surprised if the date hasn't been finalized yet at this point anyways.

How can siri be a fortune teller when Apple isn't ? That would be going against 'who's smarter.'

I don't think Apple wants siri to be smarter then they are. But WWDC 2016 only just ended, and users are already thinking about 2018? or just want to know if siri knows ..?
