When the price is constantly changing? For example, you purchase an app. at $2.99 only to see it drop to 99c?

Or, even when it is offered for free? Does it make you appreciate the app. less when it becomes cheap?

I know I shouldn't feel that way, but I do get a bit disgruntled when an app (for example, Top Gun) is sold and then the price drops and then drops again.
Takes the charm out of playing it, admittedly, just a bit.

i don't lose respect for the app or the developer, but i do get a little pissed. especially knowing that i bought enigmo and cro-mag rally for $10 and they both have been as low as $0.99. but at least that taught me not to buy pangea's apps right away and i managed to get bugdom 2 for $0.99.

If you know that prices are not fixed in stone, and you feel an app is worth the purchase price at the time you buy it, just be happy. If you don't think it's worth the price they are asking, don't buy it (and wait for a possible price drop). Just be aware, the price can just as easily increase! :)

How is it different?

then stuff going on sale on say Amazon or Walmat or any where. the options always yours Wait, then it might go on sale or it might not or even go up in price. option is always yours. But respect I have none!

The app was worth what you were willing to pay for it at the moment you bought it. You can now get an 8GB iPhone 3G for $99.

I like it when I get an app for free and then see later on that it's a paid app

Do not loose any respect at all. I only buy apps which I find worth their price. Bought Doom Resurrection, Real Racing, The Sims, Rolando 2, all at full 10$ coz I knew they were worth the price at the time I bought it. And these are the only apps in my 200+paid app collection which I bought without waiting for any sale. If drops price later why should I care. I have already played with the app months ago. So only buy apps at a price you think is worth it`s functionality. The only other option will be not buying and apps at all:eek:. Which is not really an option for me any more. So many good apps out there for 99-199cents. Even more coming out every day.

I don't mind it nearly as much as buying an App to find the developer only updates a few times a year. I was so excited about Cha-Ching then 1.5 goes and cripples the App. A month has passed without an update!

I paid $10 for Byline and have no problem seeing it at $4.99.

I do get a bit disgruntled when an app (for example, Top Gun) is sold and then the price drops and then drops again.

Top Gun plummeted in price because it was a game with potential that was just thrown together by the developers, and they haven't been able to refine it to the point that would make it worthwhile, It's still overpriced at .99.

Well, I think you have to keep in mind that they way Apple's app store is currently set up is what is driving the pricing changes. To get any sustained visibility in the Top 100, they have to play with the price (unless the app is in the "featured" or "what's hot" list). This has long been bemoaned by the iPhone dev community.

Oh...and from an IT perspective...Users are loosers!

:D

Sorry...couldn't resist the side thread on the misspelling, but I know I should have.

That the way the cookie crumbles... I've had the reverse happen as well. To name a few, Air Sharing and Save Benjis were both free when they started and are now both paid.

How can you "loose" (lol) respect for a application due to a price drop when you know it happens all the time, not with just Applications, but almost everything in general. It becomes old and to get more consumers, they decrease the price.
