I have had enough of people posting threads about this. There is probably atleast a million by now, and its wasting my time because every other one is "I have to restore my phone cuz of blackra1n. oh geohot you suck. wah!!!" It is not geohot's fault. You have a tethered jailbreak, which means your iPhone 3gs has been shipped with the new bootrom. Apple patched up the 24kpwn, which was a hack that jailbreak developers, such as geohot hacked and replaced the code that checks to see if the firmware has been modified with their own. the one they put in there skips this check. Apple moved it in the newer bootroms and the dev team and geohot are still trying to find it. You need to rerun blackra1n to turn on your phone. Your computer can talk to the bootrom via usb which allows blackra1n to do this. you will have to wait till the next software update before geohot releases the ipod touch 3g untethered jailbreak, and hopefully the 3gs will be untethered too. So stop posting all these threads on the same thing, cuz its annoying as hell! i cant even count how many times me and other people have posted the same crap to help you cuz u cant do a simple search!

Unfortunately, those who start those threads don't bother to read or research enough posts before modifying their phone. If they did, they would know what to do when the phone doesn't reboot. Your little rant probably won't get read by the persons you have directed it toward.

Of course, we all have the option to skip those threads or just not reply.

If you're going to yell at the newbies, you should at least make sure you know what you're talking about yourself. Read my Tethered Jailbreak FAQ for a simplified but accurate description of the 24Kpwn and the causes of the tethered jailbreak. And for the love all that is holy stop talking about exploits and bootroms as if they're files.
