I see nothing wrong with it because it's the inverse colour of the emoji, which identifies the emoji selection list as being inactive.
I assume this happens on light mode on your phone and not dark mode? I just checked light mode and mine doesn't look like what you've posted so I assume it's a glitch, maybe restarting your device will fix it

It is a worrying trend which is landscaping today's society. The tough question that needs to be asked is why does the OP see it as 'blackface' and not the inverse colour of the emoji?

And did you know, If you long press one of the humanoid emoticons, all ranges of negative representations of "other" people are exposed.
