Sony Online Entertainment America inc. updated EverQuest Macintosh Edition to run on Intel based Macintosh computers. This enables the game to run natively on Intel Macs without the need for Rosetta and allows it to run on Mac OS X 10.7 "Lion" natively.

There are also planned updates to the Planes of Power expansion.

More info here.

This is good news, thank you for sharing! I haven't played in forever, but I might pick it up again if the mac client gets a more recent expansion.

No problem! =D

However, I doubt that the game will be updated beyond fixes to the current expansion. In fact, a lot of people who buy a Mac and come to the EQmac server do so because its stuck back in PoP. It is really the only official "classic" EQ server SOE has.

Still, people thought EQMac would officially die off with Lion, it didn't so, who knows, right? =D
