Recently, iDVD and Preview have gone inexplicably missing from my computer (14 inch iBook G3, OSX 10.3.3), but I'm not entirely sure I didn't just delete them by accident. I'm not so worried about iDVD since I don't have the DVD-R drive, but Preview is invaluable to me. I have all the Software Restore discs from when I bought my computer - if I run these will it install new versions of everything, even if I don't want to, and will it delete all preferences I have for all my applications? I suppose it would be easier to re-install iDVD by getting iLife, but how can I get my hands on a copy of Preview? I'm just really nervous about losing a lot of stuff.

Thanks

I think your beast bet is to backup all your stuff that you need and then reinstall the start up disc.
Good luck.

Do you mean backup as in write a whole load of data cds? i have 20 gig of Stuff - about 30 CDs worth, so if there's a better way, I 'd love to know.
