I'm new to the Mac world. I want to capture streaming video off my Macbook Air (M1). Is there a safe software package to do this? Thanks very much for any info. Regards, George

If the video you are wanting to capture is protected, I am not aware of software that will correctly record the video.

If the video does not have DRM, you can use Apple's default method.

You can also try third party apps like

Snagit

ScreenFlow

Another option is Downie (Download Streams) + Permute (Conversions - ie .mov to MP4)

I also find Permute great for converting iPhone videos to other formats and reducing file sizes

A great pair of Apps
