Hi

I'm new to the forum. I want to produce some electronic newsletters to send to a professional audience. But I have no idea what software is good as this area is completely new to me.

I'm looking for a piece of software that gives me a lot of freedom to customise the design and layout, and then lets me compile the final product as a .pdf newsletter with hyperlinks for people to click around.

Is there any software that could meet this need? I don't mind investing time and money for such a product if it's worth it.

You may use any software package that you want. Microsoft Word, Pages, InDesign, OpenOffice.org, whatever floats your boat.
 
Do you need also to automate the deliveries?
If you have a company you should dig into the Marketing Automation platforms, there are plenty of those ones around and some of those are also open source, some of them even free.
