Anyone know why Software Update now takes me directly to the App Store?

How do random updates get pushed that aren't part of a particular app like printer/camera updates?

All updates, for OS X and for apps downloaded from the MAS, will appear in the MAS.

Apple switched it for to go directly to the app store update section. For stuff not in the app store, there should be update check links within those programs themselves (IE microsoft office has its own check for update menu option).

Yep... and they got rid of the Software Update app. One thing I don't like about the MAS update is that there is no way to pause it when you click "update all"...
