Had a good view of the event from Oxford yesterday... didn't take my camera though... thought I'd recreate in Celestia when I got home in the afternoon...

This is the view I got around 8.40am...

My mate got a few good shots of it in Leicester, UK but it was rubbish around the Loughborough, Leicestershire parts. It wasn't dark at all. I was very disappointed.

I rendered the image in Celestia... I chose Oxford as my viewpoint and then set the date and time.
