Sold 3G, What is the proper order of actions for jailbreaking/restoring for shipment?

So i downloaded redsn0w, and the iPhone 3.0 .ipsw ...I sold my 3g, told him I would jailbreak. So before I start working on it, what is the proper order of what i need to do before i ship the thing off?

Do i need to back up, and then restore the phone to factory settings and then jailbreak? or vice versa.

A list would be helpful, and I am sure many will also be using that information. Its a question, i see come up but haven't really found a concrete order of operations

plug into itunes and hit restore.
Let it restore and activate once the restore finishes.
When it asks you if you want to restore from backup or setup as a new phone just turn off itunes and run redsnow to jailbreak.
Thats it.

Once it restored, and redsn0w is put on...am i then able to take out my SIM and ship it off?

Also, was i reading right that the soon to be released unlock ultrasn0w will be accessible from Cydia? Does that mean you can unlock it right from an app?

Yes, once you're done jailbreaking take out your sim and ship it out.
Then all he gotta do is open cydia and install from there the ultrasnow package that unlocks the phone.
