Hi

Sold my MacBook Pro today. I chose the Reinstall OSX option prior to giving it to the buyer. I forgot to go into Disk Utilities and select the Erase Drive option.

My account was encrypted and had a password. Will the buyer be able to access all my files? I've messaged him to let him know to use the Wipe Mac option but he might not end up doing it.

This has me really worried...

Thanks!

If you just had your normal Mac login then there are ways to get around it.

Thanks. The buyer contacted me as he was presented with a lock screen after the re-installation of OS X. I got him to erase th SSD but unfortunately he got some error preventing the installation. Eventually he got it to work but was really pissed off by this point.

Apple should make it much easier to reset a Mac for sale. Why does it have to download OS X all over again? The poor guy wasted 2 hours the first time and the another 2 hours after erasing it.
