Does anything changed in regards to Apples Solo bands size guide on the website and the size itself since the initial launch? Is it still advice to pick one size lower than the one from measuring guide (like with the AW6 release a lot of people had to)? especially that AW 7/8 is longer by 1mm? so there is that 1mm less on wrist.

I just thought an Apple Watch and picked the size recommended by the guide. The thing you have to watch out for is if you print their measuring tools and your printer isn’t printing to scale then your measurement will be off. I used a tape measure like you would measure your waist with to measure my wrist. It came out as a size 9 when I put the measurement in the sizing guide and that’s the same size as the one on my series 6 series. I will say the braided Solo Loop was tight when I first bought it but now it’s a little loose. I could’ve tried a size 8 but I think that would be uncomfortably tight because only recently has my size 9 become slightly loose.

this is good to know, even despite the fact that it took some time.

I asked the question in the first place, because the measurement guide shows me a Size 6, but if I will tighten it up a bit, its on a verge of 5. Same goes with measuring tape. with a loose wrap, Im 15.8mm, but with just a slight tightening its 15.6 - where 15.8 is the min for Size 6, but 15.7 is already recommending the Size 5 (out of two) and 15.6 is "solid 5" on their site.

I am a bit worried that the size 5 may be too tight and uncomfortable, but on the other hand Size 6 may be too loose and I hate when the watch is floating (owning sport loop with SE atm, but I really would love to try the Solo loops as they looks great).

I watched few videos on youtube suggesting to take one size down, but that was on AW6 launch. maybe the improved something over the years, but couldn't find anything on that.
Im more towards picking the Size 5, considering that AW8 is 1mm longer and that the loop may become slightly loose over time.

Every measuring guide I've seen said make sure the tape is tight. Also at the thinnest part of your wrist. Maybe use some judgement on how tight but I wouldn't go for lose at all with the measuring tape. I think it even says that in the measuring guide.

The size 9 at first was slightly uncomfortable at first so expect that. I mean it wasn't cutting off circulation but not comfortable. At first I thought I made a mistake getting it but it loosened after maybe a week. Don't roughly stretch it. If you have an Apple Store near you they have bands to try on. At least they did a little over a year ago so I would expect this to be the same. If your using the printed measuring tool from Apple verify it's printed to scale. I think there's a square on the bottom to verify but I just used a cloth tape because it's like $2 and my printer wasn't printing to scale.

that's the problem that I dont have Apple stores in my country at all. only re-sellers, but none of them has Solo bands.

I used the printing guide too, shows ma 5/6. SO assuming by all that, measuring tightly I will go for the smaller Size 5, hoping it will be right and will loose a bit if it will be too tight.
I could always make a replacement of the band, having my old sport one to use in the meantime.

Thanks for your reply!

That's what I would do. If it's wrong I think you can exchange it but expect it to be tight at first. It's better to have it tight at first than too loose six months later.
