Does the continual price drop on the Beats Solo Pro indicate anything? Maybe Apple is encouraging the Solo Pro as an affordable alternative to customers who cant afford the AirPods Max? Or maybe there is an update to the Beats Solo Pro in the making? The price has steadily dropped from $299 to $159 on some sites. One site has certain colors marked as discontinued. So maybe a new version is on the way.

I decided to buy Beats Solo Pro since they were $159. After surfing the internet for considerable amount of time, I concluded that the price was indeed was a special price and the $299 price will be around.

I am very shocked that I love these headphones a lot. Comfortable, lots of bass (I love bass!), simple controls are some of the things I like. However, the reason I wanted these was the H1 chip and I'm not at all disappointed! I love the easy pairing and the simple quick way these headphones switch to whatever Apple device I'm using.

I can't afford the AirPods Pro right now but I will definitely will be buying them in future. However, until then I think I have found an alternative.

I have the Solo Pros and like them very much. Only thing is their battery was somehow completely shot within like 6 months, but Apple replaced them for me. Hopefully the replacements will last much (much, much) longer.

I have the solo pro...while not nearly as good as the max, they are very respectable at their current price point.

Solo pro are “on ear” (Smaller) headphones... the beats studio3 and the AirPods Max are “over ear” (biggger) headphones if that makes a difference to you.

I just replaced my Grado 80e open back wired headphones with the Solo Pro. The Grados had intermittent (wire) issues, and then the plastic ear cup holder broke. Nice sound, poor construction quality .

The Solo Pros are like a vise on my head. warm too. sound quality is not anything like the Grado models, but I didn't expect it. Paid $151 at BB, although Woot had them for $149. BB is easier for me to return them if I decide not to keep them. I was hoping that the transparency mode was a bit better, but it is hard to hear my wife if she starts a discussion.I will see if they are worth keeping. I may continue looking to get another open back (I am retired, and rarely need noise reduction). I just wish the clamping pressure was not as pronounced on the Solo Pros.

Don’t buy any of the Beats Solo range, they are rubbish.the battery goes flat even when they are turned off, support is useless unless you want to throw away even more cash.
Switch to a different brand

In the short time I have owned the Solo Pro's, the battery life has been quite good. The build quality is far better than the Grado's, although I prefer the open back sound quality of the Grado 80's. The wireless range with the M1 MacBook Air and the iPad Pro is also impressive, reaching outdoors easily. I just need them to fit my head better. Shrinking my skull is not an option, unless I hire a witch doctor.

I still love them. No battery problems which holds a charge in what seems like forever. I charge mine fully every 2 days and never run out of juice.

Yes. I bought a pair. H1 chip, they fold up, have a real case, sound decent (not like the awful Beats in the past). Honestly, the only thing missing is spacial audio. Everything else is perfect!

Had the Studio3 and I hated the build quality. The cheap plastic broke around the hinge after a little over a year and it was outside the warranty. I've only had problems when it comes to Beats.

so full disclosure i have the APMs now. But pre covid i went to test the APPs on quite a few occasions and I thought the solo's werent bad when i tried them right after. Not the bloated bass of old beats for sure (i also have some old studios collecting dust in my office at work)

Old post but I’ve asked a question on Solo Pro battery replacement, if you wouldn’t mind answering.

When you had the battery replaced were they the same pair you got back? or did they see d you replacement refurb pair?

I’m pondering wether to pay £95 for a battery replacement, not sure if they’ll swap the battery, or maybe send a refurb pair?
