I'am having some weird issue there...
First of all, when my MBA runs out of battery for some reason it completely shuts down (rather than going into deep sleep). To add to that, I'am experiencing some kind of bug in latest version of Yosemite (14A361c) as it doesn't show the low battery warnings anymore.
Long story short, my MBA ran out of battery, shut down, and now in OS X WiFi won't find any networks. WiFi is sometimes stuck in on/off state, it sometimes tries to search for the networks, but it never finds anything. I've tried "make service inactive" and re-adding the WiFi connection but it didn't help. What are the other options?

Now I know for the fact that hardware is OK since I can connect to wifi networks just fine from bootmenu. It works from the windows too. It's clear that something's wrong with the OS X driver or it's settings, but as there is no windows like device manager (as far as I'am aware of) in OS X, I have no idea how am I supposed to reinstall it.

Thanks in advance.

Or bite the bullet and do a complete reinstall from your backup. At least you than know that all drivers are installed correctly.

UPDATE: I tried reinstalling the IO80211Family.kext using kext utility but it didn't work.
At first permissions were clearly off as I couldn't even access the contents before changing permissions, but sadly this isn't the full solution for the problem...

Hm..
Wifi in recovery mode works, but I just can't get it to work in OS X no matter what.

If it's "on" it's constantly "searching for networks" but not responding and I can't turn it off, and if it's off I can't turn it on.

Issue fixed after installing GM release. :apple:

No idea what it was cause originally nor reinstalling the driver, nor manually clearing all the wifi user data (including settings) helped.
