I bought BCM94322MC WiFi card for Mac Pro 5,1 2009 with Big Sur, but it does not seem to get detected. But if I install this same WiFi card to Mac Pro 5,1 2012 with Big Sur, it gets detected and working as expected. Anyone knows how to debug this issue? Why would BCM94322MC not work on 2009 if it works perfectly on 2012?

Test with Mojave or earlier, since BCM94322MC is not supported with Catalina and newer macOS releases.

You need to hack the support back with OCLP and etc, won't work if you add the card to a Big Sur install after it was installed previously without the AirPort with OCLP.

I practically swapped identical BCM94322MC cards, both work just fine on 2012, but not detected on 2009. Will do a clean install of Mojave on the 2009 and see what happens.

Alright, the problem is solved by doing a clean install of High Sierra, create the Monterey installation disk within High Sierra (through OCLP). WiFi card was recognized and perfectly working in High Sierra, and now it also seems to work on Monterey as well. Thanks, @tsialex for the hints.

Hello @eka and @tsialex! Thanks a lot for your hints!!!
Thanks to you I have understand I have understand how to use the BCM94322MC on the Mac Pros with Monterey.
I have 2, one 2009 4,1 upgrade to 5,1 and one native 5,1.
Both with the BCM94322MC and both tried Martin Lo OC Package and OCLP 0.6.4.
I have done various experiment but only with OCLP I was able to have the BCM94322MC working although wifi was seems to be functional founding networks but was impossible to connect to them.
At that point I was only able to connect to networks without wpa password.
Till yesterday that I have found this topic..
I have try to reinstall from High Sierra and violà, now I can use wifi with wpa passwords with Monterey 12.6.3.
For who eventually would like to check these are the steps:

1) Boot the Mac Pro with an hard drive with High Sierra (check that the wifi is connected to a network and that is working)

2) Here on High Sierra download the OCLP, download with it the Monterey installer and then create a macOS installer on a usb drive. As OCLP will ask you at the end of the creation of the installer, let it to build and install on it the Opencore.

3) Reboot the Pro and holding the ALT/OPTION key choose the just created drive with the Monterey installer

4) Boot the installer, use DISK UTILITY for completely erase the drive you will use for Monterey and proceed to install the system

5) Wait for the Pro for install the system..

6) When the installation will be done, proceed creating your User. Here you can already join your wifi network since the installation is already patched!

7) If you have trouble with the wifi, just continue without it. When you reached the desktop, go on the wifi menu, DO NOT CHOOSE your network, INSTEAD go to System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > and here under the Wi-Fi Tab click the + and manually put your Network Name and Password.

8) Click OK and the wait around 10/30 seconds.. suddenly the wifi connection will work!

Hope this can help someone.

I know the BCM94360CD is a better option and I'm already have those cards for my Pros but I was curious to try and see if there was a workaround to have the old BCM94322MC working correctly. Cheers!

I have some wifi scripts in my dumper package.

They are for connecting to wifi networks before OCLP fixed a bug with a non functional networks prefpane. At least the wifi part.

Was a quick hack for Monterey before OCLP has fixed something.

Worth a try.
