I just took a three-day trip and shot quite a few photos on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. One part of this trip included attending an event. At that event, I shot five photos, two short videos, and a 40-minute video of a speech a friend gave. Those items haven't uploaded to my iCloud. All the photos I shot before and after the event have. I've used 95 GB of 256 GB of my iPhone's storage, and 820 GB of 2 TB of my iCloud storage. There's no message on my iPhone or Mac saying that syncing has paused. I logged onto iCloud from my Mac, and the photos and videos aren't there. They are on my iPhone. I'm at home with a fast, stable WiFi connection. Any ideas? Is it possible to manually move the photos and videos to iCloud, or at least to Photos on my Mac, via a USB-C cable?

Now you are back home take a photo, any photo and see if it moves the photo over to iCloud. If it does you may notice the remainder will also be uploaded. If no photos are added including the new one taken log out of iCloud and log back in.

I got around the problem by saving the photos and videos to my Files app. I was able to upload them to iCloud from there, download them to my Mac, and import them to Photos on my Mac.

I checked Photos on my Mac this morning, and it turns out that I accidentally took a screen shot of my iPhone yesterday. The missing photos and videos did indeed upload to iCloud and down to Photos on my Mac. Thanks!

Great… It would appear as I thought had happened to yourself; iCloud sometimes requires a wake-up when photo’s are taken away from a WiFi source. That wake-up is in the form of another photo taken whilst at a WiFi source.

I think the technical term is the Kick In The Pants method 🤓🤭
I have this happen often so thanks for the solution.

Kudos to @Ubele for fully describing the problem and what attempts have been made to solve 👏
