Hi there,
I have a late 2013 iMac 1Tb. I decided to get blade ssd and according to my research intel 660p is most proper for me. I also bought a nvme to mac adapter from aliexpress for £3. I installed the ssd but nothing changed, iMac didn't see the blade ssd. First, I think the problem is about the adapter because of it's poor quality. Then, I bought Sintech ST-NGFF2013 adapter and a nvme to usb adapter from Amazon.

After that, I installed the ssd with new sintech adapter but nothing changed again. Then, I plugged the ssd to my windows pc via usb adapter to check if it works, it was working. Following that, I plugged the ssd to iMac via usb and I formatted it as APFS file system and installed via sintech adapter to iMac, but I couldn't see the ssd again. I know it's really long and silly story but I couldn't find any solution. I cannot see my ssd on disk utility (I also clicked show all drives option on disk utility). Also I tried to boot ubuntu on iMac to format nvme ssd, but I couldn't see nvme on ubuntu too.

Any ideas?
Thanks

What macOS in on the original drive? you may have to upgrade the old drive to High Sierra so it can update the firmware - this happened to me with a Samsung 970 PRO NVMe.2 SSD and updating to HS on the old Drive first - fixed the problem

Not sure if this is the case for you - just a thought

Not sure of the specs on the intel 660p SSD - hopefully it will work with the iMac and your adapters

I'm using Catalina on my current HDD. I ve been trying to see my ssd for 2 days. I booted imac from catalina installation usb too, but I cannot see!!!!

My suggestion if nothing else works:
- Put the original drive BACK IN (we know that works)
- Get a USB3 EXTERNAL ENCLOSURE for the blade drive you have
- Put the drive into that, connect it to the iMac, and make it your external boot drive.

Thank you for your reply. I fixed the problem. I had to push the nvme into the port more hard. After long hours, I found the solution coincidentally.
