When I created an event it was not synching to iCal. Problem solved. Go to iCal and create a new Calendar called Phone. In iTunes (when your phone is plugged in) go to Info and under Calendars where it says "put new events created on this iPhone into the calendar" select "phone." It works!

I think you forgot to save the note on the iPhone by using the done button and that's why it didn't sync to the desktop computer.

I didn't need to create a seperate calendar for "phone" on my mac in ical to do this.
