I desperately need somebody to do me a relatively simple task: Download my Logic project, bounce it and send me the result. Ignore any missing plugins and drum tracks. There should only be two plugins that aren't factory, but one of them runs the snare, kick and toms so you won't hear those.

Logic 10.5.1 is having a complete breakdown on my Mac Pro and I don't know if it's just my computer or the program itself. But whenever I bounce the project, half the automations are way out of sync, lots of them don't even happen, certain audio/MIDI sections don't play, crap like that. It's completely out to lunch and it's completely ruined a project I spent hours upon hours making perfect.

Please help me out. Let me know and I'll PM you a dropbox link. It's a 1.2GB file. If it works on an M1 system then that'll seal the deal and I'll order one today.

So did it work, OP?

I seem to have no issues so far opening old Logic projects on my m1.

So the issues my project was having did not go away when bounced on a different computer and Logic version. I tried on my old MacBook with Logic 10.4.2, and a volunteer bounced it on his M1 with 10.6.whatever. Same problem on all of them.

The issue ended up being a glitchy project file, which I think was caused by creating the project from a template. I saved it from disaster by creating a brand new project file and importing all data from the original.

So sadly I don't have an excuse to buy an M1 anymore, but now I can keep working on this machine and wait for the next-gen chips.

firstly I'm glad you got that sorted out but now I'm worried about using templates, what version of Logic are you running?

I'm daily driving 10.5.1, and the template was made from a 10.4.2 project.

If you don't have issues, probably no need to worry. My symptoms were mainly automations that were early or overlooked completely in the bounce. If that happens to you, do what I did and create a brand new project and then just import everything from the problem project.
