After the 12.4 update my M1 Air has an issue with certain websites. I assume it may be an M1 thing, as I have two Intel computers, one of which is set up with exactly same software as the M1 Air, and they do not show this behavior.
Web pages load partially: sometimes the progress bar reaches ⅓, sometimes ½, some sites render, some don't. There is no obvious pattern, apart from fonts from CSS not loading (I can see the text rendered in default font instead of what the CSS provides).

When running "Timeline recording" from "Develop" menu, the playhead just stops and does not move any further right, as it should. The recorded tab is fully responsive, though, you can try reload or enter another web address and it will behave the same again.

Other browsers on the same M1 machine have no issues with the very same websites.

Other Safari browsers on my other MacOS 12.4 computers (intel) have no issues.

The culprit is has no content blocking software installed. Safari is set up exactly as on my intel Air and websites work on the intel, but not on the M1.

Anyone seen something like this?

Great catch, thank you. Indeed, that's it. Seems advertisers found they way around Safari tracking block.
Actually, if you had from trackers and websites enabled it uses iCloud Private Relay which is still in beta so it could be that as well.
