Hi there,

For safety reasons, I connected my mac pro and my apple display to the same power strip/socket. I turn off completely (I have a on/off button) the power strip at the end of the day after powering down the machine. I dont know if it is ok with the mac pro since I know that even turned off but connected to the power socket, the mac is consuming some wattage and now it is impossible for the mac to do so.

Thanks for the replies.

No problem with totally removing power, if you don't need wake-on-lan/remote access/etc.

Eh?
So are you saying that if the machine is off but the mains is still connected/on, the machine will wake on LAN/ remote etc if set to do so?
Surely the machine needs to be on & sleeping for “wake on” etc to work?

Yes, LAN can start the mac if needed. Not only on sleep, but if completely turned off.
