You can be pretty sure that the Ibook is also a scam. Some of the pictures aren't even of an iBook, but a Powerbook (see speaker-mesh). It looks like he just grabbed a bunch of pictures from the web and used those. The people bidding are out of their mind.

Why don't you email him to inquire about the iPhone? See what he says. :D

eBay item #280110709343

This guy is obviously scamming, wish I knew how to contact his unlucky bidders... scroll down his auction page to see where he adverts for the "unlocked iPhone!"

certainly he's a scammer, but its also a possibility he's talking about the cisco iphone... the one apple had the long tussle over... obviously advertising it next to an apple laptop makes it look like another apple product.

just my $0.02 worth.

The pictures aren't even consistent!

And the tell-tale sign of poor english and the style of writing is a sure give away.

'If they promise they will last what makes you think my laptops won't, they are no different.'

Ahahahaha.

15" iBook.

No, it's ok. He specifically states at the bottom that potential buyers should ignore the official apple info that he has copied and pasted (about 12 and 14 inch laptops) and reassures them that this one is definitely 15 inch.

Earlier on he quotes from a press release about powerbooks.

A fictional laptop for 255 dollars - that's a bargain.

since when did microsoft come out with a 60GB 360? the only big hard drive they have is 120GB which came out with the 360 elite this past sunday. how stupid can he be???

He's a new member of eBay too!

What a moron. Although anybody that bids on any of his auctions is a moron. You should always research the product you're planning on purchasing before committing to an auction. My boss would say if people get ripped off by this kind of scam then they're paying 'stupid tax'.

Buyer beware!

It's a hidden-bidder auction, therefore 'Bidder 3' is just a generic name foran unknown bidder.
Certainly it is a scam, but not for this reason. Recently eBay changed the way that bidders are shown. I have noticed that all of my actions lately (selling and buyung) have been this way.

if u haven't noticed these types of scams are ALL over ebay, and Ebay doesn't do anything about it. All they want is the fees when the auction ends.

But don't you dare say that you accept only non-CC (bank-funded) PayPal. They will cancel you listing in a hurry; it happened to me twice, so I no longer sell anything on eBay.

SCAM

There are way to many inconstancies to count, but I will start the list:

  • Inaccurate pictures
  • Contradictory info
  • Seller is new to eBay
  • Product doesn't exist....

FYI. I got his response to my question

BSL4 Guy: " could you please post the 'about this Mac screenshot? Thanks.' "

him: "i do not completely understand your question , although i believe you are asking me to tell you if this laptop comes with i suppose mac os x or mac os 6 etc. "

So now you get to mess with him. :D

"Which release of Mac OS 6? 6.0.8 is the one with the latest security updates. Do you provide the DVD installer or the 7-CD set?"
