There & Back Again
I thought I would put a different flavour in the discussions because mainly people seem to be having problems with Windows on their machines (surprise surprise!)

I have bootcamp (1.1.2 - 1.3 almost killed my machine), and I was hoping for a fun (free) way of putting some skins on my machine to make it look like OS X.

Anyone know of any good stuff out there?

i never had any trouble when I used it. FlyAKite OSX was always nice to me. I didn't like the standard dock though, so I got ObjectDock. Looks a lot more realistic. The one that came with my version (something launcher, can't remember) had a really wierd trash bin icon and layout.

Try, try again I guess is my advice...

The free way to do it is this. I did it heaps before I got my Macbook.

1) Get uxtheme.dll hack and use it on your computer.

2) Get visual styles. There a plenty of different ones out there, so pick your favourite. :)

3) Move the task bar to the top. (duh)

4) Get RKLauncher for the dock. It's free and the "lightest" option out there.

5) There are ways to get exposé but they're not free. :D

The AquaSoft forums is the best place to go for information on skinning Windows.

What about Vista?

Okay, I've been doing quite a bit of searching and I'm having a hard time finding a program or programs that would allow you to make Vista look like OS X. Everything I find indicates they work just for XP.

Does anybody know of a way to make this happen for Vista? Do any of the programs/techniques for XP also work for Vista? Since system files are involved, I'd rather not be the first to beta test that.
