Some help before i buy!!!

hey all,

Looking at making my first MAC purchase in the form of a Middle of the range white Macbook.

First question.
Has anyone had any experience with a STM Small Brink Bag (http://www.stmbags.com.au/smallbrink) or have any real pictures of it

Second Question.
what is a good mouse to use in the $60 (AUD) bracket... i do not want a mighty mouse have heard to many bad stories.

Third Question.
What software is there to use to burn cd, dvds etc

1. Sorry, I can't help you with that one.

2. Have a look at Logitech, namely the VX Revolution.

3. Roxio Toast, iTunes, iDVD. Depends what media you want to burn.

STM bags are generally very good. I have the STM Glove and I love it. A few of my friends have the STM Alley and it seems like a very good bag. I'm not sure what the difference between the small brink bag is. I had a look at it, and in my opinion I think the STM Alley is better. I would research this into more depth though.

No, sorry I have not had an experience with them.

Well, if you dont want to try a Mighty Mouse, then try to find something from Logitech- they make great products.

Third Question.
What software is there to use to burn cd, dvds etc

I generally use iTunes since I don't burn many CDs. But Toast is great program.

You can also use a nifty little free program called Burn for your cd and dvd writing.

After using Easy CD creator etc on a PC for many years, it was so refreshing to find the Roxio Toast was such a great, simple option for the Mac.

I strongly recommend Toast.

For burning information to disk you could always use the humble ole finder, no one mentioned it yet!! Its well integrated, free and easy to use! For movies use iDvd, and for music iTunes.

Logitech V450

MS 4000 Mouse (yes to some this is the dark side)

I dont need a full profesional mouse just something basic

Also is there anything else i need to know before i make the purchase??

That is a nice looking bag, but consider what else you might want to pack in the bag in addition to the MacBook. For me, I think I'd prefer a bag with more additional storage, especially for when I fly. I like to have room for a few snacks and accessories.

I also think Logitech make decent products. I have an older USB scroll mouse from Logitech and it has help up quite nicely. You didn't say if you are only considering a cordless mouse.

I also like Toast. It has good integration with EyeTV which is another fun thing for your future Mac.
