Some Help with 1.1.1 Jailbreak?

I have been trying the method that was posted here

When I get up to downgrade on the phone it tells me to select the file named iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw but when I go into the folder that I downloaded earlier from http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite...70821.vormd/iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw It isn't not there. There is two .dmg files both titled with numbers and a firmware folder with two more folders inside but there is no .ipsw?

Can someone help me out with this?


And one more question when you do this downgrade/jailbreak/upgrade do you lose all of info like your music your contacts notes photos and such???

Don't even bother with the downgrade process. I got/hacked my iPod Touch (which came with 1.1.1) yesterday with no problems, without downgrading at all. Follow the instructions at:

http://www.touchdev.net/wiki/Jailbreak_Guide

Believe me, it's easier, and it works. (Except for that darn MobileMail.app...)

P.S. Personally, I followed the guide to a T until the end of the "Install Install.app" and then just skimmed the rest of the page to see what interested me. I suggest you do the same.

I'm going to try it one more time from the guide that is modmyiphone hopefully it works.

by the way the post above me only work on iPod Touch


anyone have any other suggestions if this doesn't work ?

I finally got the downgrade to work but for me to do so I had to do the downgrade on windows comp to finally get the restore file to download right.

I have yet to try to upgrade/jailbreak1.1.1 for now I think I'm fine with 1.0.2 until the next october update comes out.
