some help with terminal

im trying to connect to something that requires a tn3270 application to connect. i believe ive connected using Terminal before, but i cant seem to remember how. can anyone help me out? for now, ive dled a separate tn3270 program to do this for me. thanks

tn3270, protocol wise, is nothing more than telnet, so you can try "telnet <host>" to see if it is functional enough for you.

I used telnet before to emulate TN5250, and the only issue I had was function keys not mapping properly.

Hm, sounds like you need to set you $TERM environmental variable to match the system you're trying
to connect to.

Something similar to this:

TERM=tn3270
export TERM
