Hi guys,

I must admit i'm more of a forum reader than a message poster usually, but I've just bought myself a cool new soft, and just thought some of you lot might be interested...

Some of you may have tried out Mac's own voices for their speech synthesizer thingy, but they do sound pretty crap. I'm going to France next year for a 6 month contract, and I guessed my french could do with a bit of work, if I wanted to have some fun over there ;). Well, I hunted around a bit, there's plenty of stuff for PC (yeah, as usual) and then I found this neat little software : Speechissimo.

Message too long ! ;)

It's just a little window, sits quietly in your dock, and you can drag and drop or copy any text and it will read it out to you with a really great voice ! I mean the apple voices (sorry guys) really suck once you've heard this !

You can't try it out as a demo version, but there are samples and stuff on the site, so I decided to take a gamble and buy it (it's quite cheap, $49) in French, so I can really practise my pronunciation. Well, this little app rocks, guys, I'm thinking of getting the american voice when I'm finished learning how to say "vouler vous couchez avec moi se soir !" :D

The site is www.digalo.com - in the mac section, of course !

gee, I guess it does kind of sound like that, only I wish I was paid for posting stuff, that'd be nice !!!! :D
