Some icons change back to stock when launched

Hi guys,

So I recently found about changing icons on mac, so I was doing it, and most of the icons turned out well. But there is one icon that I really want to be changed but when the app is launched, in the dock the icon changes back to original. In launchpad and finder, the icon is the new one I changed to.

The app is DrRacket. It's a programming software mostly used for education. and I will be using this app a lot for some time, so I would love to change the icon of this app.

Any suggestions?

Did you try searching the forums for an answer before you post things? That is maybe why people don't respond to your threads.

I've seen topics very similar to this 100 times in recent weeks. If it is not specific to the program you're running, you will more than likely get the gist of what to do to help fix your problem.

Edit: This forum is indeed VERY helpful, you just need to learn how to utilize all the available information.

I searched google, instead of this forum, and found a thread from this forum, that someone was having trouble changing icon for apps that are from the apps store. and I was also having trouble, so I followed someone's instruction, and it's good now. But this app I'm talking about in this thread is not from the app store. I'll do the search in this forum specifically and see if I can find something.

When I do advanced search, can't find anything related to changing icon..I've selected the forums for OSX 10.7, 8, and 9. and also UI Customization. What am I doing wrong..

You're not doing anything wrong.

Personally, I can't offer any help on this particular problem you're facing. I've never played around with changing the appearance of my icons. One thing that does come to mind is that the app you downloaded may have a bug that is causing it to change the icon back to its default state.

Have you tried contacting the people who developed the app? They may be able to offer some help.
