I have over 150 contacts on my iPhone, but only 20 of them show up when I log into my iCloud.com/contacts account online. Can someone help me figure out why? Is there a way to keep them synced? Is this is setting issue on my iPhone or iTunes?

I'd personally try turning off contacts from within Settings>iCloud and telling the iPhone to keep all of them. Then I'd turn it back on and tell it to merge all with iCloud. That should copy all of them to iCloud.

Thank you Hazy Cloud

I had been trying for several hours to retrieve most of my phone contacts from my Macbook Pro to my iPhone with no success.Believe me I had followed all kinds of instructions none of which worked.Yours did!So I have gone through the rigmarole of registering with MacRumors so I can thank you.

If there are more problem-solvers like you out there it is worth following MacRumors. Thanks again.

Awesome, I'm glad to hear it worked for you. Thanks for thank you. And yes, there's a lot of problem solvers around here. :)

Didnt work for me.

Hey, My 4s is after deleting a few numbers this morning so I tired to get them off Icloud, but that didn't work. so I went onto icloud to see if they were even there, and they're not! any ideas? they were there for the last few days for sure!

I tried the switch the contacts off and on in the icloud setting already.. but to no avail.

Thanks guys :)

I've had major issues with contacts since updating to 7.1. Somehow about half my contacts vanished in icloud, and on iPhone, iPad, and MacBook they were all different. I thought the solution would be simple: delete this messed up version on my MacBook, restore from recent backup on external drive, then merge that with icloud version. Not that simple.

Hours on the phone with Apple ... IOS and OSX specialists, deleting, restoring, etc, etc. My backup was Archive rather than VCard. So, eventually got everything back on the computer, exported that as Vcards, then deleted icloud and devices, then restored with Vcards. This worked.

Why did this happen? No answers to that.

I am now taking the precaution of turning off icloud for contacts on phone and iPad, and only turning it on when I add new contacts as I just don't trust icloud as no reason could be found for why this happened, and it was a major drama losing half my contacts at a very busy time and spending a vast amount of time sorting it out.
