I have the mac connected to my LE40M8 Samsung tv, but some of the picture is missing. For instance I dont see the "equivalent-to-start-button" in the upper left corner. Its like something is missing on each side of the screen. I tried changing the resolution, but its either as it is now, or its a small square that doesnt fill out the whole screen. How do I fix this?

open system preferences, go to display and turn off overscan.

Now go into your TV stretch mode and adjust your display size. Some work great some will not. I know for a fact Toshiba has a native display setting that works perfect with a mac mini

Different TVs require different settings. For example, on my Panasonic plasma, getting the desktop to fill the screen perfectly requires that I have overscan ON on the computer, but OFF on the TV.

And the "stretch mode" (by which I guess azdunerat means the aspect ratio control) on your TV won't make any difference to the visible area of the desktop, whereas the overscan control will. What you want is for the TV to be in native 16:9 mode with the desktop filling the screen.

Overscan (which may be called something else - Sony Bravias call it "Fixed Pixel", for example) will, if available, be in one of the setup menus for your TV.

I went through the screen settings, and in the menu where you select widescreen, 16:9 and so on there was one called just-scan

So I hit that one and now it fills out the entire screen ;) Im slowly getting there, now I just need to find the perfect keyboard/mouse and Im all set hehe

thanks guys

Ive been looking at exactly that one but apparently they dont make those in denmark - not the mac edition at least. But I am looking for something similar. I think this one has a very cool design. Looks slim and slick, so it really sucks I cant get it. Do you know any similar keyboards?

Apple Wireless Keyboard. Cheaper and better.

yeah and it looks sick but ill be having a problem with the mouse. I hear a laser mouse works fine on a bed but still, I would prefer a mouse pad on my keyboard

anyway I know I probably have to find a samsung forum for this, but my TV (LE40M8) has something called Home Theatre PC in the menu, but I cant click it. Its just gray like its not available. In the manual it says that it makes the picture quality better on a computer, but it doesnt say anything about how to activate it. Could it be it only works with windows??

I just setup my Mini with Samsung TV yesterday and had the same issue, this hint helped me to fix it - http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=16257022#post16257022
