iOS 11 seems to be one of the most buggy release despite receiving updates up to iOS 11.4.1

Several articles prior to iOS 12 announcement or WWDC 2018 seem to mention that planned features to be released have been delayed to focus on stability and bug fixes. One year later with iOS 13, Apple seems to have repeated the same buggy release streak even after receiving updates up to iOS 13.7

Several years later, and after the promised launch of Apple intelligence which is still not at the level as shown on Apple YouTube ads, do you think there are still planned features intended for iOS 13 up to 26 that have not seen the light of the day or pushed back for a future release?

From what I have seen in the videos and articles, it feels like iOS 26 is what iOS 18 is supposed to be, just like iPhone 16 Pro is what iPhone 15 Pro is supposed to be.

As a side note, despite being launched in 2010, the iPad only received the official Apple Calculator app with iPadOS 18, 14 years later, and a long time macOS app, Preview is made available now with iPadOS 26.

I imagine there are probably many features that have been planned or partially developed in prior releases that have been delayed, parked, permanently mothballed or replaced/evolved into something else. The backlog at Apple would be fascinating to see!

Yes. I assume Apple are using an iterative Agile development cycle so for every sprint it will be a question of Must, Should, Could, Won’t. Thing destined for ios12 may very well no longer be considered important so will remain on the backlog list but may never see the light of day.
