I made a completely clean install of Yosemite. I installed it on a separate partition and the install went fine. However, some "preferences" have been transferred and I don't know why.

I did not restore from Time Machine and I am positive this is a separate partition. I do not have Chrome installed at all, and the old Safari is gone, obviously.

It doesn't affect the overall experience, but it bugs me. Is there any way to reset it or remove it? Thanks.

It worked, thank you!

I also have to ask: Can you web search on the Spotlight search? I type (for example) "test" and it will not show like "Search Bing for 'test'".

There is a good chance they will come back, unless you add your partition with mavericks on the settings/spotlight/confidentiality pane.

I am having the same issue but can I know what does this command does?

& also do I have to run this command in my mavericks partition as well?
