1) all of yor options can run in the last imac.

2)no.the virus canot damage the mac as x

the rest i don't know

1) You should be fine with those games, even with Crysis. If you search on youtube you can find videos of people playing Crysis on iMacs w/ the lower-end ATI card, and it looks great.
2) No, it's on a separate partition.
3) Maybe an 8800GS across the board? But certainly nothing in August, they were just upgraded.
4) The 2.8 should be just fine.

man i will be take the 3.06 the money diferencec is unnotable.....

man i will be take the 3.06 the money diferencec is unnotable.....

EDIT: why the apple lauch the imac 3.06? 3.06 to 2.8 is not hig diferencec....
i don't undertod this.....

so i guess im going to get the 2.8 ghz i just relized the 3.06 is like 400 more. a total scam imho.

^ Yes but the 400 dollars more also gets you a 500GB HDD and the Nvidia graphics card, which plays games amazingly great. I am able to play some pretty recent, highly graphically intensive with lots of vertices and stuff, and get upwards of 40 to 60 fps.

because they launched them with totaly different processors...the only big difference between the two processors appears in the FBS. The current Penryns in the iMacs have next gen size FBS's so even though they don't advertise it, it causes a noticable increase in performance and multi tasking.

I think the 8800 is what really matters for gaming, not the 2.8 vs. the 3.06. As far as next gen graphics go, I highly doubt these will be updated by august. The imacs are on a very slow refresh cycle.

I have the new iMac 2.8Ghz with 8800gs and I can say Crysis preforms quite well on Vista 32-Bit with DirectX10. I averaged over 30-fps on medium settings , definitely playable and enjoyable. I also benched Doom 3 on the osx side and achieved 55.7fps all settings maxed FSAA x4 at 1920x1200 resolution. Had some time with Gears of War on vista as well and it runs remarkably fast. Looks allot better on here then on my xbox. All setting maxed with DX10 turned on, FFSA set to off, achieving average 50 fps. Will post a more detailed report when I get a chance to do some real benchmarking.

Sorry, I don't have FPS metrics to report for those games. However, I will tell you the 8800 GS generally performs better than I expected. In Age of Conan (via Vista in Boot Camp), for example, I'm able to get 30-50 FPS pretty reliably -- even with all settings except shadows on high.

With the 8800 GS and the amazing screen, the new iMac is a great machine for gamers.

Generally I've been impressed with the performance of the high-end model. It did cost a pretty penny though (about $2600 with discounts, all decked out).
