Some songs are really loud on my iPod (30GB Photo). When I'm shuffling they will come un way lunder and it scares the crap out of me. Everything is normal in iTunes and it does it's little volume check thing when songs are imported. So basically, does anyone know why some songs are way lounder and how I can fix this? Thanks.

If you Get Info the songs in iTunes and use the Volume Adjustment feature in the Options section, does that fix the problem when you play on the iPod?

Well everything plays at an even level in iTunes. It's only on my iPod that they play way louder.

Also I'm pretty sure I tried putting sound check on for awhile and it didn't fix it. Is that what that's supposed to do? If not, what does it do?

As for the bit rates I'm not exactly sure, most everything I have is pretty close to the same (128 or 160 mostly.)

I hope I can fix this, not only does it scare the crap out of me when a song comes on really loud, but it really hurts my ears too.
