For the first time in some while I don't really have any ongoing projects as I just have to wrap up some development work for my hand-in.

I never get very helpful feedback from my tutors so I was looking for some elsewhere and where else but here?

So, thoughts?

Vandalism

Your vandalism/police poster isn't bad but something about it doesn't drive the message home.

When I first looked at it the text was so heavy that it became hard to read, it therefore drew my attention first before even trying to discern what the window was. The window being otherworldly with its bright colors makes it seem more out of place rather than a contrast of a wonderful blue sky world and the one wrecked by vandalism.

I suppose what I'm getting at is that there is a competition for attention that is not harmoniously resolved, there isn't an obvious starting and stopping place.

Next time consider (not that these would solve the problem but worth experimenting with) using a larger window, putting "vandalism wrecks communities" closer to the window with the rest of the text by itself, might look good with a person walking away from a broken window or staring at a broken window (trying to display the giving up on a community).

i definatly think you need to rework your image choices for the vandalism poster... bigger window as stated by scooby_doo.... or even just a grungy/dirty brick wall with the word vandalism (or some actual vandalism) sprayed across it in a graffiti style... with the rest of your info situated towards the bottom of the layout... gives of the vibe first hand that its about vandalism....

as for your police layout....... at first look i do not even get the feel that it was about police recruiting until i saw the little now recruiting police logo in the bottom right hand corner.... i would try doing the police colour strips or chequers across a white layout with some text

my hat goes off to your physio and record studio branding... i really like the concept of physio and with the other... i like the use of b/w also the contrast.

Thanks guys, the vandalism poster was additional for the client, only asked for a day or so before meeting them. I used a stock image of a broken window and it was the best I could find.

I just really, really wanted to stay away from spray paint :]

Im assuming that your blog site is just used for a portfolio? Correct? Well if I came across this, I wouldnt see that while reading. I would just think it was another person posting random finds on the internet. Im not saying you cant use a blog for a portfolio, but in this case I think it doesnt come off as a portfolio. I think if you organized it better and went into more detail about each project it would be much better. Just my opinion
