The other thread where I posted about this was locked. I figure this is worthwhile to add to the discussion. I go to George Washington University, and the media reports about them blocking the iPad are way sensationalized.
GW uses the Juniper SSL VPN client for wifi security. The iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad simply do not support this feature currently.

So, they're not specifically blocking iPads or any of that BS. It's a deficiency on Apple's end for support of their VPN solution.
