John Gruber posted a link to a website with several HTML 5 classic games that I have reposted below:

http://www.kesiev.com/akihabara/

They appear to work pretty well on the iPad. Posting here for those who may be interested.

If this is indicative of the current state of HTML5, then there's still a long way left to go. Those games don't look or play anywhere near as well as the free ones available in the app store. :(

Really? Web based games don't play as well as native games? No kidding.

I tried to play them on my MBP using firefox and they wont start. Flash games work well tho. :p

Serious tho, i'll have to give them a try on the pad and see whats up.

Thanks for the links!

really? pacman ran great on my iPad, a bit slow but it worked flawlessly. if this is indicative of anything it means well start to see amazingly complex html5 games out there (read: google made quake 2 run with html5 and JavaScript).

this is not yet a ratified standard and if runs, imagine what will happen when it's a web standard in every browser come next year.

Those run very poorly on the iPad. Strange I played a few other HTML 5 games and they were far, FAR smoother.

Now if I could only find the damn link to them lol.

Yeah really. Hopefully, by the time the 3rd or 4th iteration of the iPad we'll see support for stuff like Farmville and Quake LIVE.
