ok, when you activate it, is there a step where if you get it wrong, they than offer you a prepaid account? I am a US citezen, but I am atending school in Toronto Canada, and I want the iPhone more for a PDA for school rather than a Phone, so I was wondering I could get a prepaid card to basically activate it.

The GoPhone page does not list the iPhone as compatible with GoPhone rate plans. It's still unclear whether AT&T will at some point allow GoPhone plans with the iPhone. My guess is that it might be a few weeks or months before they do this. They want to lock as many customers into 2 year contracts as possible. Once they've done that, they might allow PAYG plans.
