I dont know what is going on. I just got my new MacPro with a X1900. As soon as i took it out of the box i hooked it up to my 20 inch widescreen with its DVI port. The computer woudl start up but there was not picture. I had to use the AVI cord inconjunction with their converter to make it work.

Now i loaded WoW. the game loaded fine but when i press "play game" the screen goes blank. I can hear the background music but cant see a picture? Is this a driver issue? if so can someone pelase tell me where i can get a new driver.

Thank you

Are you in Windows or OS X? That would help.

And chances are you wont be able to. It sounds like something is wrong with either your card or the monitor.

If you have another monitor try and duplicate what is happening on the 20".

If the same thing happens, you may have an issue with the card. I am not really sure how you could go about getting a different driver for it.

Maybe a reinstall of OS X is in order?

are u serious, i just took it out of the box lastnight.

Bad components happen. Even on $2500 computers. It could have been damaged during shipment. Who knows?

You need to verify what the problem is though through elimination. Reinstall OS X. Try a different monitor. If those things dont't solve the problem it would seem that you have a hardware issue.

Stock video cards on Macs don't usually have drivers to download, other than those provided by Apple via Software Update.

Your card is probably switching to a refresh rate your display can't support, but is telling the card that it can.

This is a common problem with cheaper displays.

What brand is it?

Apple isnt going to help you with software that they dont make.

As far as .avi does, you are going to need the divx codec. I would recommend http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

They make a nice player, and it usually plays everything. You will need something for WMV as well like Flip4Mac.

i know that apple isnt going to help me with software they didnt make. However this isnt a "blizzard" problem, its a problem with their graphics card. Both my mon, as well as the game work fine on TWO diffrent PC's. On top of that for some reason MY DVI cord isnt accepted, i have to use my AVI one with thier converter.

thank you for the link. I downloaded divx already but it still wont play. i only get sound.
